I have just completed the design and build of a new, refined and minimalist website for luxury fashion consultant, Mirabel Edgedale.

An expert at implementing retail strategy, Mirabel works alongside designers at the forefront of change in luxury fashion. Latency of the Fall

Latency of the Fall is a conceptual project aimed at tieing together the loose themes that run throughout my body of work — such as Non-linearity, Chaos, Unpredictability, Interaction, Installation. It consists of over 100 pages of drawings, images and designs in 5 parts based around the idea of producing a system that is at once Chaotic and Ordered. The designs illustrate methods of producing chaos in a confined system, whilst they them selves are contained within a pristine white box. The images shown below are only a brief excerpt.

Relational Design

My major project of research that makes up the bulk of my Degree at CSM centres around the concept of Relational Design. I have written extensively on this topic as a progression from my dissertation on Altermodernism.

I have written 3 books on the topic:
A definition of Relational Design;
A collection of practical examples of Relational design in Practise;
A book of conversations that aims to create new ideas from Relational Design.

As well as the books, research, and resultant essays, I continued to explore these ideas in my own practice. This took the form of exhibitions, lectures, events, installations and interventions.

My full dissertation is available online. You can view the plain text version here, and the designed version here. The result of a years worth of research, I hope by allowing others to read, discuss and engage with my text that I can continue to explore these new and exciting ideas.

I designed the text into an 80 page, hand-bound, hard-back book. You can view this in the gallery bellow.

Since releasing my dissertation online, I have been invited to give a lecture at the LVMH theatre at Central Saint Martins.

The Fortnightly Review has also referenced my dissertation on Altermodernism in their article on Postmodernism at the V&A, you can read it here.

The Parts of a Book

This brief required me to design a format for a long and complex academic reference text. The text was inherently fragmentary with a strong numerical ordering system. In response to this, and to make the text more playful, I decided to use the format of a standard Poker deck of playing cards. I carefully engineered the design to perfectly accommodate the text across the 54 cards, which were then professionally produced onto plastic coated playing cards.
